Vatikan’dan “Sübyancı Papazları polise ihbar etmeyin” emri

Evet, Vatikan’ın bugüne kadarki “hayır biz kesinlikle pedofil papazları koruyacak bir şey yapmadık” savunmasını yalanlayan 1997 yılında Irlanda’ya yollanmış bir mektup ortaya çıktı. Mektup dönemin Vatikan’ın İrlanda’daki büyükelçisi başpsikopos Luciano Storero‘nun imzasını taşıyor ve pedofiliyle suçlanan papazların polise ihbar edilmemesini emrediyor.

Storero mektubunda “bu olayların ortaya çıkması ahlaki ve kilise açısından büyük problemlere sebep olacaktır” yazmış. Küçük çocuklara cinsel istismar yapan papazları korumaya yönelik bir komplodan bahsederken “ahlak” kelimesini nasıl kullanıyor, anlamak güç. Mektup ayrıca “kanunun noktasına kadar takip edilmesi gerektiği”ni söylüyor. Burada kanundan kasıt Katolik Kilisesi kanunu. Yani “kol kırılır, yen içinde kalır” kanunu.
